Yossi Arjevani
יוסי ארג'וני

I am an assistant professor (מרצה בכיר) in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, at the Hebrew university of Jerusalem. During 2020-2021, I was a post-doctoral researcher at NYU, hosted by Joan Bruna. I received my PhD in mathematics and computer science at the Weizmann Institute, advised by of Ohad Shamir. I obtained my BSc and MSc from the Hebrew university of Jerusalem, where I worked with Shai Shalev-Shwartz.

My research lies in the confluence of optimization and machine learning. I am particularly interested in optimization methods for machine learning, geometry of nonconvex optimization landscapes and theoretical aspects of deep learning.
