Automatic Tone Mapping Followed by Further Adjustment

The images on this page were generated by using our automatic tone mapper to produce the initial mapping, followed by further interactive adjustments by the user. One way of performing such adjustments is to treat the initial mapping as a new input image and manipulate it further using the stroke-based interface. Another alternative is to select zones in the image and override the target values prescribed by the automatic tone mapper. Thumbnails marked Exposure refer to an image produced by applying a global auto-exposure value to the input image. Automatic refers to the result of our automatic tone mapper. Final Result is the result of applying further adjustments.

Instructions: Roll your mouse over each thumbnail to see a larger version of the image appear below. When the mouse exits the thumbnail, the larger version shows the final result. This makes it possible to easily flip back and forth between the images. Click on a thumbnail for a full resolution version of the image.
