Current Research
I'm a PhD student at the Hebrew University. My advisor is Prof. Danny Dolev. I am currently working on an innovative
programming model and runtime support that facilitates the design and implementation of "offload-aware" applications.
Such applications can utilize advanced programmable hardware peripherals for dynamically offload application functionalities.
The topic of my M.Sc. thesis was a programming model and system support for developing disconnected-aware applications on resource constrained devices <slides>. This work was partially sponsored by Microsoft research (MSR) and was guided by Dr. Israel Ben-Shaul (now at Cisco).
Work
- An Intern at the IBM Haifa Research Labs, c/o Tel-Aviv (July 2006 - September 2006)
- During my internship I have designed and implemented an innovative framework for developing autonomous systems with self-healing properties. The framework provides a design methodology as well as ready-to use healing elements aimed at enhancing software systems with self-healing capabilities both at design time and at run time.
- My advisor was Dr. Onn Shehory.
- An Intern at Microsoft Research, Cambridge (June 2004 - August 2004)
- I have designed and implemented a networking stack for a research operating system prototype (called Singularity).
- My adviser was Dr. Richard Black.
- Senior Software Engineer and Architect at SANgate (January 2001 - February 2003)
- Led the specification, design and implementation of a fault-tolerant and scalable clustering platform for a high-end SAN data replication appliance in the Linux environment. The platform allowed the development of symmetric distributed applications on top of the Spread group communication service (from jhu).
- Instructor at the Technion's Software Systems Lab (October 1999 - June 2002)
- I have initiated and instructed several software projects on NT and WinCE under the supervision of Dr. Ilana Ben-David.
- A military service at the Computers and Communication Task Force (January 2001 - June 1995).
- I was responsible for the design and implementation of a distributed application (over radio) which included a GPS, a graphical map and a rocket launcher. The project included all development cycles from requirements to implementation and testing. The system is currently operational.
- A Software Engineer at Mobilitec (June 2000 - January 2001)
- Mobilitec provides a wireless ASP platform with a focus of serving Java-enabled wireless devices. During my work there, I've implemented XML based registry and a provisioning tool which included a front end (Java GUI) and a backend (Java Servlets).
