Meeting with Mankal Iriyat Bet-Shemesh 15 july 1998

The meeting was on subjects of problems that the residents that moved are having.
particapating were: Mankal ha-iriya, and menahaley agafim. Before the meeting a fax with question was sent to them and they gave answers. here is a summary of the meeting.

Bezeq lines

For some projects there is an immediate conection [muller, peretz Minrav] for others [solmon] within a few weeks.
We asked them to ask Bezeq to put public phones,

Mail Service

Mail will be given in the first stage to the homes [they claimed delivary has started]. later on there will be 10 "merazey haluka" - distribution centers, each family will have a box there [pob] and then the mail will not be deliverd home.

Public Transportation

Egged will have a line travling through Ramat Bet Shemesh Alef to Bet-Shemsh starting
1 August 1998. After Egged will start the "moniyot sherut" will start too.
Since the line is an internal line, we asked them to check what about a line to Jerusalem from RBS, or having in the mornings a line picking up people from RBS to Jerusalem, and some line in the afternoon dropping people off at RBS [from Jerusalem].

Mikve

The mayor asked misrad hashikun to finnish building the Mikve A.S.A.P. including working on it at night and giving the contracter a bonus. no expected date yet.

Eruv Shabat

The expected date for the Eruv to be ready is 1 August 1998.

Garbage removal

garbage removal has started, its on a weekly basis, when more people will move in it will be 2-3 times a week.

Parks and trees

Misrad Hashilun plan was to plant trees mid next year, We asked them to try to have it earlyer on roads that are finished and people have moved in.
Misrad Hashikun has 3 small parks / playgrounds that will be ready by September1st on Alef-2 [the southern part of the neighborhood]. We asked for another pak to be started ASAP in the northen part [Minrav area] where people have moved in.

Security and Police

Last week Minister of Police visited Bet-Shemesh and RBS, There is a plan to have a local police station [small one] at RBS, and at night it will be a "Mishmar Ezrachy" - civil guard station.
There is a police officer that is incharge of the Civil gurad at RBS, and soon there will be a call for volunteers.
The Police was asked, as of now, to have patrol going through and around RBS.
We asked that the Police will do a liitle "seder" since the roads are sort of a "wild west" now at the sight.

Municpilaty Moked 106

The Iriya has a "moked" 106 work hours are 06:30 - 23:00
There will be Netzigut Iriya at RBS [in the misrad hashikun offices at the sight] very soon [durring work hours ...]

Education Issues

The school building will be ready only on Hanuka, so there will be hasaot to the old city.
Kinder Gardens [Gan hova] will be opened in RBS.
Trom Hova [ages 3-5] will not be opened yet - there arent enough buildings. We have rejected on that point, and we were told that the Iriya is looking to rent appertments for ganim, so if you know of some one that wants to rent out to the iriya for a Gan just tell us, and we wil pass the info on.
There will be more meetings on Education issues [since that is the biggest problem ...]
