THIS letter has important instructions for the list. Please read it and
save it for future refrence.

LIST MEMBERS

The list is intended for the use of residents, property owners, and people
interested in moving to RBS Alef. If you do not belong to one of these
categories, there are plenty of other lists available.

MAIL DELIVERY OPTIONS

The default mode is receiving each message immediately after it is
sent. Digest mode, where you will receive one message a day is also
available. See Setting and Changing Flags for more details.


BASIC MAIL PROCEDURES

To subscribe
	Send email to rbs-request@cs.huji.ac.il with no subject
	Type the word 'subscribe' in the message body, nothing else.

To unsubscribe
	Type the word 'unsubscribe' in the message body, nothing else.

To send a message to the list:
        Send email to rbs@cs.huji.ac.il
        Be sure to include a descriptive subject with EACH message.

MAIL MODES (FLAGS)

Default mode - you will receive every email sent to the list online.

Digest mode - you will receive a digest [once a day] with all of the day's
mail.

Digest2 mode - you will receive both online mail and a daily digest.

Vacation mode - you will not receive any mail when this mode is active,
and the messages sent will NOT be saved for you in your absence.



SETTING AND CHANGING FLAGS

To set any of the above flags, perform the following steps:
Send an email to rbs-request@cs.huji.ac.il with no subject
In the body of the message, type the following:
	'set <flag>'
	or 'unset  <flag>'
   Replace <flag> with your flag choice, Digest, Digest2, Vacation.

To change active flags, send a new request. Each request replaces the
previous status.[adds the flag if 'set' or takes it of if 'unset']

To check what flags are currently active,
Send an email to rbs-request@cs.huji.ac.il with no subject
Type the word 'stats' in the message body, nothing else.


LIST REGULATIONS

1. This list is intended for use of its members only. We do not want it
   full of  junkmail. Think before you send.

2. No politics allowed.

3. No commercial advertisments allowed, however:
    i) You may give a recommendation for someone that you used.
   ii) If you have a small business that can benefit the community [maon,
       private lessons, etc.] You may send a message once a month.
  iii) If someone asks for a recomendation for a craftsman please answer
       OFFLIST.
   iv) If you would like to do everyone a favor, and then compile all the
	recommendations, you may post the compiled list.

4. When replying, do NOT send more of the original message than is
   ABSOLUTELY necessary, particularly when replying to a DIGEST.

5. When you want to reply OFFLIST, be sure you use the correct Reply To
   option in your mailer.

6. If you use Outlook or Exchange, please turn off the "Tell me when
sent" option before posting to the list.

7. Send ONLY in text format, NOT in HTML(or HTML & text)format.
