Positions are open in the two main fields of interest in the lab:

• Join us in our journey to characterize, model and manipulate peptide-mediated protein interactions.
• Participate in our investigations on the evolution of protein domain repeats and their role in binding. This project involves also experimental work.

Optimal background:

• Biology and interest in biological questions
• Broad background in Bioinformatics
• Chemical and physical basics of protein structure and dynamics
• Computational structural biology (e.g. Course 81817, 81855, or similar)
• Basic computational skills in LINUX/UNIX environment; scripting languages; and c++

We are looking for a person that would help our Rosetta manager Eran Kuchuk maintain, support and develop the Rosetta websites and coordinate the Rosetta community (see rosettacommons.org). This is a part-time position (50%) in the Furman lab at the Hebrew University, Hadassah Medical School, Ein Kerem, Jerusalem.

The Rosetta software includes a wide range of protocols for the structural modeling and design of proteins and other biological molecules. It was originally developed in the group of David Baker at the University of Washington Seattle WA, USA, and is constantly expanding to a team of developers that includes Investigators that originated from the Baker lab.
We are a dynamic community of currently around 120 developers in around 10 groups (predominantly located across the US, except for our group at the Hebrew University, and some others). We meet once a year for a conference in the mountains near Seattle, and there are 2-3 additional meetings for the core developers.

The job involves the support of this organization regarding Internet, code versions and user support. You will visit and get to know the different main groups, and then be responsible for the seamless contact between all of us. It can be quite fun, as the people are very nice, very interesting, and also sometimes very funny.

In addition, the job involves the maintenance and further development of our local lab website, as well as our servers. As time permits, an own scientific project can be developed.

The job would include among others:

• keep http://rosettacommons.org updated
• monitor the rosetta forums
• manage svn users
• maintain wiki/tiki/doxygen/documentation
• update svn/other software on svn machine and rosettacommons machine
• prepare Rosetta releases
• create license accounts

Wanted background:

• You should be familiar with wiki/tikis, doxygen, basic documentation and user support skills, and obviously web site development/maintenance.
• You should have a C++ and software development background.
• You should be a person that likes to contact people and motivate a group.
• You should have a biological background and like protein structures (at least on the screen).
