In the Computer-Aided Surgery and Medical Image Processing Laboratory at the Hebrew University's School of Engineering and Computer Science faculty and student teams are developing new algorithms and computer-based systems to improve the planning, execution, and evaluation of diagnostic and surgical procedures.

Working in close collaboration with hospitals, academia, and industry, the teams are involved in a number of exciting projects:

• Computer-integrated systems for assisting surgeons in closed reduction and fixation of bone fractures
• Miniature robot-based precise targeting system for keyhole neurosurgery
• Registration technology for real-time imaging and tracking in X rays and CT's
• New data structures and visualization algorithms for the representation, manipulation and real-time display of CT, MRI' and 3D Ultrasound data sets
